Our magnetic separator uses a copper winding coil to generate a magnetic field between an upper and lower yoke. A rotating vertical ring, coated with magnetic stainless steel, passes through this field. Feed pulp enters the machine and interacts with the magnetic matrix on the rotating ring.

APPLICATION

Ideally suitable for the following applications:

  • Concentrating metallic minerals like hematite, limonite, manganese ore, ilmenite, chromite etc.
  • Concentrating non-metallic ores like quartz, feldspar, nepheline ore, kaolin, silica etc by eliminating feebly magnetic ferrous contaminants.

It can be used in wet processing for particles below 1.2 mm (- 200 mesh of 30 ~ 100%) of fine grained liberated material.

Choke-free operation: The magnetic material is flushed out from the same direction in which it goes inside the matrix element. Thus the material does not have to pass through the entire length of the matrix element and easily flushed out.

Pulsation mechanism: The pulsation mechanism provided in the machine ensures cleaner magnetic concentrates as the pulsation helps in knocking out non-magnetic inclusions in the separation zone.

Patented coil cooling system: The coil is cooled by a patented forced oil cooling system instead of the conventional water cooling system through hollow conductors.

Principle

The feed pulp is fed into the feed hopper through the feed pipe and reaches matrix material (magnetic stainless steel) on the rotating ring and at the location between the magnetic poles of the yoke. The background magnetic field is concentrated on the matrix material consisting of high permeability stainless steel rods and these become the collection point for the feebly magnetic ore / material present in the feed pulp while the non-magnetic material passes through the matrix to the tailings launder below. The magnetic material rises up with the rotating ring in contact with the matrix material and is flushed out with water at the 12’ O clock position and collected in a launder and discharged separately as magnetic fraction. The non-magnetic particles flow to the bottom launder and can be taken out of the machine through a manually operated valve. The vale can be manually adjusted to maintain pulp level in the bottom launder
